OPrince of peace,Bring your peace into our discorded world.Come now to live in our hearts.Bring your order into our chaos.Hasten the day when you will come again, andAll men will acknowledgeyour sovereign rule. Amen.
Let us remember before God,and commend to his sure keeping:those who have died for their country in war;those whom we knew, and whose memory we treasure;and all who have lived and diedin the service of mankind.
They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old:Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morningWe will remember them.
Father, we remember how your Son, during the timeof his ministry on earth, had great compassionfor those who suffered. We bring to you those who still sufferas the result of war.
Hear our prayer, Father, for those who live withthe pain and scars of bodily injury; for thosewhose minds are shattered by the horrors whichthey witnessed or endured; for those who havebeen bereaved; for those who do not believein you or trust their fellow men.Grant to them peace of mind and heart, and relieffrom all their suffering, Amen.
