Jesus receives the Cross.

Priest. (Genuflecting) We adore Thee, O Christ, and Praise Thee.

All. (Genuflecting) Because by Thy Holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the World.

Priest. Consider how Jesus, in making this journey with the Cross on his shoulders, thought of us, and offered for us to his Father the death he was about to undergo. (Pause)

Priest. O Jesus, You have chosen to die the disgraceful death on the Cross. You have paid a high price for my redemption and the life of grace that was bestowed upon me. May I love You always and bear my crosses for Your sake.

An Act of Contrition.

All (Genuflecting) I love Thee, Jesus, my love, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always; and then do with me what Thou wilt.
