Jesus falls the second time.

Priest. (Genuflecting) We adore Thee, O Christ, and Praise Thee.

All. (Genuflecting) Because by Thy Holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the World.

Priest. Consider the second fall of Jesus under the Cross; a fall which renews the pain of all the wounds in his head and members.

Priest. O Jesus, despite my good resolutions, I have sinned repeatedly. But Your sufferings assure me of forgiveness if only I return to you with a contrite heart. I repent for having offended You. Help me to avoid sin in the future.

An Act of Contrition.

All (Genuflecting) I love Thee, Jesus, my love, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always; and then do with me what Thou wilt.
