On the feast of St John Bosco, all the schools from the Multi Academy Company joined us for Mass in our beautiful Church on Wednesday 31st of January at 10am.

Staff and Pupils from all of the MAC schools were in attendance.

This was a wonderful occasion and was a perfect way to showcase our school and parish community.

My thanks to everyone who made this day so wonderful, we must do something else like this in the future to bring our schools and parish together. Below is a selection of photos from the day.

Welcome to Fr Michael's website. This website has been designed with the intention of helping parishioners prepare for the Sacraments of the Church. There is information on Baptisms, Funerals, Marriage, Catechesis and more. Please feel free to browse. The website will also show some of the many activities happening in the church.

Thank you to everyone who returned their Palm Crosses to Church for making the ashes that were used on Ash Wednesday.

On 2nd February we celebrated CANDLEMASS, which is the conclusion of the season of light which began at Christmas. After this day the crib was taken down.

A selection of candles were blessed, that would be used in the liturgy in the coming weeks.

Candles were lit and a procession into church began, ending at the Lady Chapel.

Here the prayer of Solomon was said, which was the prayer Solomon prayed when Jesus was presented in the temple.

The Roman Catholic Initiation of Adults and Children, is a course run by the Catholic Church for everyone who would like to know more about the faith and what we believe as Catholics. The course is run for those who are thinking about becoming a Catholic, and those who would like to know more about their faith. Handouts for 'Focus on Faith' and 'The Catholic Faith' is used by the priest during the talks, and the course material is presented on these pages, and can be read and downloaded for reference.

The course began on Tuesday 9th January 2024 and will consists of 20 informal talks, supplemented by handouts used to backup what has been discussed. The group meets every Tuesday at 7pm in the Church.

If you would like to come to the talks, you would be most welcome, and there is no obligation to become a Catholic.Β

Children's liturgy is to recommence on Sunday 18th February with the intention of meeting every Sunday. We have a few people who will run the liturgy, which will mean that they should do it once or so every month.

The Children will be invited to come forward to the Altar, receive the crucifix or a book, and will then go to the sacristy for their own liturgy of the word. They will return into church at the offertory and will bring the gifts to the Altar.

Thankyou to everyone who has offered to help with this vital ministry to children in our parish.

Parents are welcome to go with their children if they wish.
