Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.

Priest. (Genuflecting) We adore Thee, O Christ, and Praise Thee.

All. (Genuflecting) Because by Thy Holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the World.

Priest. Consider how the holy woman named Veronica, seeing Jesus so ill-used, and bathed in sweat and blood, wiped his face with a towel, on which was left the impression of his holy countenance.

Priest. O Jesus, how graciously did You reward that courageous woman. When I side with You against sin and temptation, You surely will increase the beauty of my soul and fill me with joy and peace. Jesus, give me courage.

An Act of Contrition.

All (Genuflecting) I love Thee, Jesus, my love, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always; and then do with me what Thou wilt.

Our Father...Hail Mary...Glory be to the Father.

Sabat Mater

Can the human heart refrain

From partaking in her pain,

In that Mother’s pain untold?
