Jesus falls for the third time.

Priest. (Genuflecting) We adore Thee, O Christ, and Praise Thee.

All. (Genuflecting) Because by Thy Holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the World.

Priest. Consider the third fall of Jesus Christ. His weakness was extreme, and the cruelty of his executioners excessive, who tried to hasten his steps when he could scarcely move.

Priest. O Jesus, I see you bowed to the earth, enduring the pains of extreme exhaustion. Grant that I may never yield to despair in time of hardship and spiritual distress. Let me come to You for help and comfort.

An Act of Contrition.

All (Genuflecting) I love Thee, Jesus, my love, above all things; I repent with my whole heart of having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always; and then do with me what Thou wilt.
